“A poem” is a sound painting of the poem “Hồn Lìa Khỏi Xác” by Hàn Mặc Tử, one of Vietnam’s most famous poets. It describes the soul’s journey after death. The melody is composed simultaneously with the poem by the poet and its interpretation depends on the part of Vietnam where it is performed. The recordings were made in Vietnam in October and November 2008, where the composition around the words and given melody was conceived.
