Sound Creations from the World – for the World
Music and sound is my life – I am fascinated and led by music and sounds from all over the world, with a focus on sound, music and perception related to movies or visual art.
I consider myself to be a ‘sound artist’. Originally starting out as musician, I soon discovered the beauty and power of sounds. Pieces created from material gathered through field recordings always lead to catching stories, un- and discovering new territory in music technology and composition, sound design and for so called radio plays. A magical world, where hard fact science meets mysticism and the subconscious.
By now my services range from sound design, composition via boom operator, field and voice recording to music editor and copyist for sheet music. Every now and then I still find the time to play one of the various kinds of world music styles I studied at the Conservatory. Of course, always digging deeper into the languages of sound and music from all over the world.
In my spare time I love hanging out in front of the computer, creating new compositions, sounds and music for visuals and narratives, especially for film and sonic art (electronic music, stories in sound also known as radio plays or radio documentaries). Currently I am taking a closer look at Processing in combination with SuperColider.
Since I never gave up asking the “why-questions”, another passion of mine is to research the influence and impact of sound and music on humans, their emotions, perception and related cognitive processes.
Many great occasions have allowed me to participate in projects, providing me with opportunities to take a closer look at my area of expertise, art and culture as it is practiced and approached on different continents. It has also created many interesting topics for future researches, and opened even more paths for projects in cooperation and connecting with people all over the world.
It is a pleasure presenting some of these ideas here!
Enjoy… & drop me a line – if you will!
